My Symmetrical Christmas Tree

This is my 2009 Christmas Tree...It is not my favorite. For the past four Christmases, I have had real trees. I don't know what type of tree they were, all I know they smelled and looked wonderful. My home would be fulled with that wonderful natural pine smell. This year, I have decided that I had to get a plastic and wire tree. This decision was made by my wallet not by my holiday heart. So, I gave into the wallet's whispers and got this tree from a box. There are two things that bug me the most about this tree. 1- I had to settle and 2- It's symmetrical. Real trees are not symmetrical. The center bark is never straight and there are gaps every where. The trees I normally pick out what I lovingly call fat bottom trees. Positive things did come from this tree. Big Bea and I pieced together the frame. Big Al did his part with the ornaments while Little Al shook the balls on the bottom of the tree. TEAMWORK! I am sure this symmetrical tree will grow on me.... I hope.

Mazel Tov!

I attended the wedding of Ariane and Peter last night. It was an awesome event. Love fulled the air. This event made me think about a quote from the great Mister Rogers...
"Love isn't a state of perfect caring. It is an active noun like struggle. To love someone is to strive to accept that person exactly the way he or she is, right here and now. "

I wish the beautiful Mrs. & Mr. endless happiness & joy.

Short and sweet.

Thankful.

I am ...

...thankful for my three awesome and beautiful children. They are my only reason why I stride to for perfection. I give my children what I can within my means. I wish I had the means to spoil them with material things but they are spoiled with hug, kissies & love. If you can convert hugs kisses and love in money, they would be the richest children in the universe.

...thankful for the people in my life that give me great support. You listen to my points of view and you help me realize that I am the best at what I do.
...thankful that I am a strong person. I have many challenges in my life and I manage to survive them. I don't know what challenges are going to be ahead, but I know that I am prepared to handle what is given to me.

Time flies when you don't blog.

There I go again...my busy life prevents me from having time for my lonely blog. I am hopeful that I will have time for the last part of this year and the better part of the next year to blog. I am going to have time because ... drum roll please.... I have completed my course work for an Associate of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies at Kaplan University online. Hehe. I am just waiting to receive my degree. I am very happy that I am done with this step. I can't wait to get started on another degree plan.
The picture for this entry is my husband and I at the this year's Marine Corp Ball. The ball was held last Saturday in Flushing Queens. This is the USMC I attended and I enjoyed myself. I can't wait for the next event.
